“..and saying this is where I stand, and then what?”

This comment was how one man summed up his work with me as a way of describing how easy it is to forget your position on things when you get caught up in other people’s concerns and agendas OR you’re so busy living life to the max and acting responsibly that you take your “eye off the ball” and forget what’s important. It’s pretty normal to experience some distress when things feel like they’re a bit out of kilter and it seems difficult to find time to stop, catch your breath and make sense of what’s going on around you.

Sometimes what we value or know about ourselves, in terms of how we operate best in the world, is lost or smothered by other things that take priority. Saying that, unexpected events or problems that have built up over time can also combine to threaten our sense of being able to cope with whatever needs to be done. This sense of being overwhelmed can impact our perceived ability to take the steps required to get out of the sense of ‘stuck-ness’ that is causing all the bother.

By paying close attention to you and what’s going on, I work with you to create a ‘distance’ between you and the problems that have been impacting your preferred way of living. It’s in this space that possible solutions to the problems begin to emerge…
