Keep those new year resolutions realistic – says expert

You can set goals at any time of the year but following them through is a different story.

It’s really easy to promise yourself to do something a bit different when you’re feeling relaxed, your mind is clear and you’re away from those tasks that usually take priority.

But when you’re faced with your reality after that break away how can you make changes that last?

Make sure that the goal is yours – not anyone else’s.  Only you know how you’d like your life to be.

It’s much easier to achieve a goal if you’ve figured out what it is that you really want.  There may be competing beliefs or issues that are fogging up your view about what’s important.  Maybe you’ve forgotten what it is that you value.

If making goals are important to you, take time to work out how to get clear and stay clear about what they’re about.
